We have been working on 3 success mantras since inception. They include: Whatever you do, do it with full commitment, always look for long-term goal and always add real value to whatever you are doing - Sanjeev Kumar, co-founder, Logic Fruit Technologies

Mumbai: The Indian defence and aerospace sectors have long faced high costs and security risks due to reliance on imported computing systems. Advancing self-reliance in defence technology, Logic Fruit Technologies, founded in 2009, has developed indigenous advanced Single Board Computers (SBCs) that integrate complex computing capabilities onto a single circuit board. This innovation reduces India’s dependence on foreign manufacturers like Abaco, Curtis-Wright, and XES for critical defense computing systems, reinforcing the nation’s technological sovereignty.

Of late, Paras Defence has picked up eight per cent stake in Logic Fruit by investing Rs10 crore into the company. Moreover, it is likely to see more such investments pouring in near future. Thus, the company’s annual turnover is all set to cross Rs100 crore mark by next fiscal-end.

Started by IITian friends Sanjeev Kumar, Anil Nikhra, and Vineet Goel with a handful of employees in 2009, the company now has over 250 employees at 3 locations – Gurugram, Bengaluru and California. The company’s flagship product, the Kritin iXD 6U VPX SBC, showcases advanced technical capabilities with its Intel Xeon ICE LAKE D-1700 processor supporting up to 10 cores.

The system features 32GB DDR4 memory with error correction, a 32-lane PCIe switch, and dual XMC slots compliant with VITA 46.9 standards. These specifications enable high-speed data processing crucial for modern military applications.

Talking to Bizz Buzz, Sanjeev Kumar, Co-Founder and CEO, Logic Fruit Technologies, said: “We have been working on three success mantras since inception. They included: whatever you do, do it with full commitment, always look for long-term goal and always add real value to whatever you are doing.”

Military testing demonstrates the SBCs’ resilience in extreme conditions. The systems maintain full functionality in temperatures from -40 to +85°C, withstand vibrations up to 0.1 g²/Hz, and operate at altitudes reaching 60,000 feet.

The impact extends across multiple defense applications. Logic Fruit’s SBCs now power FMCW radar systems for airborne operations, process signals for weather radar systems, and drive smart multifunctional displays in mission computers. Their application in electronic warfare systems and EOIR payload management demonstrates versatility in military operations.

Development continues with new SBC variants in 6U and 3U form factors, incorporating Intel Xeon E series processors and AMD Radeon GPUs. These systems support multiple operating systems including Ubuntu 20.04 LTS, Linux, VxWorks, and Integrity, offering flexibility for various defense applications.

The company maintains strict compliance with international standards This adherence ensures compatibility with global defense systems, while meeting rigorous military requirements. Storage specifications extend to temperatures from -55 to +105°C ambient, with humidity resistance up to 95 per cent non-condensing.

This indigenous development under the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative establishes India’s domestic capability in critical defense technology. As military systems increasingly rely on advanced computing power, Logic Fruit’s innovation strengthens India’s position in defense technology manufacturing. The achievement shows that domestic manufacturers like us can produce sophisticated military-grade computing solutions previously available only through imports, Sanjeev Kumar explained.
